 Seeing Conflict Differently

Conflict exists all around us. Two plants compete for a few square inches of soil. We both want to sit in this chair. Two friends have very different political views. Two parents love each other - and they don't see eye-to-eye about money management or what's best for their children.

The good news is that there is nothing wrong with conflict. It is a natural part of our everyday life. What's important is how we deal with it. We can have the same old arguments again and again, with no resolution in sight and feel the pain as the distance grows between us. We can avoid the conflict, creating distance, separation, and no solution. Or we can honor conflict and learn how to resolve it skillfully, creating a renewed sense of connection between committed partners - or between parents who are going their separate ways, but will always be related as parents.

At Healers of Conflicts Law & Conflict Resolution Center, we believe that every conflict is an opportunity for transformation. Through honoring conflict, we can learn about ourselves and others. We can grow in ways that we couldn't grow as solitary beings. Relationships and the natural conflicts that result are the tools for personal growth, deep inner healing and transforming our lives.   We offer workshops on conflict for businesses and community groups.

Seeking Balance

We are committed to helping you resolve your conflicts effectively, efficiently and economically. At the same time, we don’t want you to sell yourself short to avoid conflict and later regret it. Sometimes it is hard to decide when it is a time for standing your ground and when it may be best to compromise. We’ll work with you to consider all paths and options and to design the best possible approach, one that empowers you and provides for the growth and healing of everyone concerned. We don't go to court but we maintain a referral list of skilled and experienced litigation attorneys who can assist you if you determine it is your path.

Our Team Approach

Our lives have been devoted to learning about conflict and how to resolve it.  Our attorney, J. Kim Wright has a diverse background in many areas of family law including handling many divorces and custody cases, being director of a domestic violence shelter, being a foster parent, court advocate for children, and mother to eight children. She's been a business owner for more than 20 years and has had a wide variety of life experiences that allow her to understand many of life's challenges.

In our practice, we often work in teams with each other or in interdisciplinary teams with experts in other fields. Experts we've used in the past have included financial professionals, counselors, child specialists, real estate brokers, spiritual advisers, and others. Working as a team helps us get different expertise, perspectives and insights to help you resolve your problems with the best support and information available.
