Are you looking for a conscious way to face your separation and divorce? Do you need help in facing the challenge of creating a new life? The most important decision you will make about your divorce is how to handle it. At Healers of Conflicts Law & Conflict Resolution Center, we help you look out for your long-term best interests, while addressing the short-term anger and frustration of the moment.

In many years of practice, we've learned that court is NOT an effective way of resolving conflict. It costs a lot of time, money, and emotional pain and, in the end, it destroys relationships. Whether you share children, a business, or a community, divorce isn't the end of a relationship but a redesign. We work with clients to help them find ways to communicate with each other. We help you discover common ground and use that as a foundation for resolving differences. We've made healing conflict our life's work. We work mostly with separating couples but we can handle many types of legal issues. Whatever the issue, we never go to court except for filing uncontested matters. Because we believe the litigation system is inefficient and expensive, we can usually save you time and money in the long run. And because each client and situation is unique, we custom-design our approach for each client.

We can also help you with your estate planning needs: a will, a trust, powers of attorney, or an ethical will to pass on what is really important--your values, hopes, and dreams.

Whether it is a separation agreement, a will, or a business contract, we help clients meet their needs and express their wishes in legal documents written in plain English.

Our Toolbox

There is an old saying that if a hammer is your only tool, everything starts looking like a nail. For a long time, lawyers have depended on the litigation system as our only tool. At Healers of Conflicts Law & Conflict Resolution Center, our mission is to provide the most cutting edge tools: Transformational Mediation, Collaborative Law, Preventive Law, Restorative Justice, Creative Problem-solving, and many other holistic approaches that are a part of the movement toward a new paradigm of peacemaking in the legal profession. We look at your legal problems in the context of your whole life, in the context of your relationships, your values, and your resources (financial, emotional, and time).

We're pioneers in the movement. Our Managing Attorney, Kim Wright, is the Publisher of a developing magazine for lawyers called The Cutting Edge Law Magazine ("Inspiration & Innovation for Lawyers") and a national leader who writes, trains, and speaks about the movement to bar associations and other groups around the country.

(For a general overview of all our tools, take a look at Our Toolbox.) This web site has a lot of information about those approaches to help you understand the tools we use. You can also find information about how we view conflict and articles we've written that we thought might be of interest to our clients.

While we look at our practice from the perspective of what tools we offer, most clients are more interested in the types of problems we help them solve or prevent. The links at the bottom will take you to information about your particular issue and how our services might be helpful to you.

Our Team Approach

No one can be an expert in all matters. Much like your family doctor, we handle many general kinds of problems and, when we feel more specialized expertise is necessary, we help you find the most qualified expert—perhaps an attorney who specializes in a particular area or some other helping professional.  Then, at your option, we may stay involved in your case to make sure that the legal system serves your best interests and to provide you with answers to your questions and emotional support. We have developed a network of caring, qualified professionals to help us serve all our clients' needs. These professionals, while independent of us, support our work and know how to work with us as a team. (If you are a holistic professional and want to know more about becoming part of our network, click here.)

Our Fees

Our work is valuable and we’re committed to making it available to as many people as possible. Our fees will consider and balance your needs and your means, as well as ours. We offer sliding scale, flat rate services as well as hourly services.
