Legal Coaching & Counseling

...Compassionate listening, advice, guidance and expertise in making decisions about your legal concern and how to resolve it...whether we end up representing you or not.

The most important decision you make in any legal matter is the approach you will use to resolve it. We help you sort out what is your best path and we help you find the resources to follow it. Our focus is on creating the future and completing the past in alignment with your values and priorities.  This is a particularly effective approach for clients who have legal problems but aren't sure what kind of lawyer is a good fit for them, or whether they even need a lawyer to address the problem.

People with legal problems are often afraid to get a lawyer involved. They're concerned about the costs of litigation and may believe that taking a case to court will escalate the conflict. Some would prefer to represent themselves but need guidance. With the Internet providing information that seems contradictory, it is often hard to know when you need a lawyer and when you can do it yourself. People are looking for creative new ways to get the legal information and guidance they need at prices they can afford. Coaching is one of the ways they're using.

We welcome you to use us as coaches on the legal issues you face dealing with any conflict in North Carolina. Coaching differs from representation in several ways:

  • There's no large retainer. You pay for services as you use them.

  • We don't prepare any documents or do any research.

  • Our office does not represent you and will not represent you in court.

  • You may use our services once or several times as you see the need.

  • Coaching is generally for the most common legal issues. Complicated issues that require extensive research generally require a retainer to cover the costs of researching the legal issues.

  • When you're finished with the coach, you don't owe anything because you pay as you go in coaching.
